The Var Branch of the British Association of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var was formed in April 1998 and today has over 550 members. It is one of four branches of the British Association which is registered in Nice as a “1901 association”.

We are a charitable organisation devoted to helping British people who have problems and the Welfare side of the Branch helps those who encounter unexpected problems such as illness, accidents, bereavement or financial difficulties.

Regular social events are held in all parts of the Var and prove invaluable for introducing members to one another. They also provide a valuable means of raising funds to support the Welfare aims of the Branch.

Publications include a monthly Newsletter and Information Sheets on a variety of topics designed to help members with life in France. Other Publications include Greetings and Christmas Cards, Recipe Collections and a Members’ Address Book which is available to members only. 

A Committee of twelve members elected annually at the AGM direct the affairs of the Branch in accordance with its Constitution.
